‘Krinvantho Viswamariyam’ As embodied in these ancient ever relevant words of wisdom, we realize that to fulfil our global responsibilities, it is inevitable for India to achieve prosperity in all areas of thought and action. We also understand fully that only through the path of self-reliance, built up on indigenous values and scientific temper, can Bharath achieve sustainable development in the modern era of competition.

Swasraya Bharath is a unique movement for a self reliant India.  National self reliance is the foundation for comprehensive development of our country. Achievements of these goals involves a gigantic effort by the society as a whole. We need to motivate our students, youth, scientists, technocrats, academicians and the public at large to participate in this national effort for self reliance.  Spreading the message of India’s growth, development and success will scientifically boost the morale of our society. Swasraya Bharath was initiated by Swadeshi Science Movement (Kerala Chapter of Vinjana Bharathi) in 2005 and it has been graced by eminent personalities in different walks of life.

Last year Swasraya Bharath 2007 was celebrated during  9th-15th October 2007 at Kochi, Kerala. Tens of thousands of students and general public had the opportunity to interact with experts from various fields of science, engineering and technology.
